About Josh Nordwick
Not only has Josh helped 100s of clients achieve lifestyle transformation, he's been through a transformation of his own. Josh is the author of Mountain Fit: The Hunter's Fitness Solution.
As a fitness professional, Josh has led hundreds of clients through individualized training programs in a semi-private training setting - working with everyone from professional athletes to busy moms and everything in between. He now focuses on transforming the lives of hunters and preparing them for the physical challenges of the wild. He provides training and nutrition program with cutting edge change psychology to guarantee results.
He has a couple top certifications, yet he doesn't consider himself a personal trainer.

He has been studying fitness/nutrition for 8 years and counting.
He had a two year stint where he was playing college football and going to school for engineering before realizing that it was the wrong path – thanks to an ACL surgery leaving him on the couch with plenty of time to ponder life.
Why do I work with hunters?
While I was growing up in Montana, hunting was a way of life. It’s all anyone in my family cared to talk about. Family get-togethers quickly became hunting story-time. To be honest, I was more interested in sports and fitness at this time.
The older I get, the stronger my draw to the outdoors. Regardless of what you call it, it's one of the places that I feel connected with God. But this isn't the real reason that I work with hunters.
The real reason is my dad. Several years ago, my dad was in tough shape. He spent his entire life doing physical labor in order to provide a decent life for our family. The result was decades of excruciating back pain.
Over time, things continued to get worse. One day, while getting out of bed, he slipped a disc in his back. This left him in bed for a month. It was all he could do to make it to my brother’s wedding. He didn’t know what to do. The doctors gave him pain pills and the surgeons wanted to do surgery.
While working as a personal trainer/strength coach, I was working with my dad on the side to fix his spinal alignment and help him regain his fitness.
He recently called me to tell me that he hit a new PR on deadlift and that he is stronger than me again. It took a lot of hard work, but he has made a real, lasting transformation. Words cannot explain how happy this made me. (Learn more about my dad’s story by signing up for the newsletter below.)
I know there are lots of people out there in situations similar to my dad’s. You’ve sacrificed a lot for your family. You’ve spent countless hours providing for them and working on your career. If you’re anything like him, you’d do it all again.
Here’s the thing: somewhere along the way you sacrificed your health and fitness. Somewhere in the course of twenty years, you’ve added 20 pounds. Recreational sports have become beer and wings. The time you spent on fitness is now spent on family and work.
There is nothing inherently wrong with this, provided that you are happy. When you’re not happy with the way you look and perform, it's hard - not only on you but also on your family. They look to you for guidance.
As much as you hope that your kids will “do as you say and not as you do”, chances are they will be very similar. When your son thinks of what a man is, he thinks of you. When your daughter thinks of the type of man she should marry, you're the template.
What you do today has a direct impact on who your kids will become and what they will think of as normal.
I'm not here to tell you that you need to train like an elite athlete. I'm not going to try to convince you that if you want to be in shape for hunting that you need to hit the weights 6 days a week and consume 20 different supplements. Because you don't. And anybody who tells you that is full of shit.
You won't find any 7 day nutritional cleanses, 6 minute abs, or any instant fixes here. You've been around, and quite frankly, you're too old for that shit.
Here's the truth: 95% of people's fitness goals can be accomplished with 3-5 hours of well-planned exercise per week and small nutritional changes that target your limiting factors.
If you want to have a successful fitness transformation, you need a great plan and great support. It really is that simple. But don’t confuse simple with easy. If it were easy, 66% of the population wouldn't be overweight.
On this site and the Mountain Fit group, I'll give away as much free content as possible to help you accomplish your goals. One thing I'm particularly proud of is that my site is 100% free of ads and bias. I have no affiliation with any fitness equipment, supplement, or hunting brand. The result is complete autonomy over the information to ensure that it serves you best.
